Our Gents are a purebred OES (Old English Sheepdog) and a Poodle. Both are AKC registered, purchased from reputable breeders, and born from fully health tested parents. We do our best to make sure that they will produce the best pups! Breeders are chosen by their reputation, how long they have been breeding and by their transparency and honesty.
Embark Tested
Our Gents are Embark tested and cleared of any health diseases before we make a decision to use them as sires. We want to do our very best to produce strong, healthy pups clear of any genetic health issues. Embark genetically tests for hundreds of potential issues pertaining to each specific breed. Their geneticists are available to answer any questions or concerns.
Old English Sheepdogs are tested specifically for:
- Hereditary Ataxia, Cerebellar Degeneration RAB24
- Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, PCD
- Shaking Puppy Syndrome, X-linked generalized Tremor Syndrome
- Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome, CMS
- von Willebrand Disease Type III, Type IIIvWD
- Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 8, NCL8
Standard Poodles are specifically tested for:
- Degenerative Myelopathy
- Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures, NEWS
- Osteochondrodysplasia, Skeletal Dwarfism
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy, prcd
- Von Willebrand Disease Type 1, Type 1vWD
- Chondrodystrophy and Intervertebral Disc Disease,
CDDY/IVDD, Type 1 IVDD - GM2 Gangliosidodis
OFA Tested
Our Gents have also been evaluated in regards to all the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) recommended tests found on the OFA website.
The OFA recommends the following basic health screening tests for all Old English Sheepdogs breeding stock:
- Hip Dsyplasia (OFA Radiographic Hip Evaluation or PennHIP Evaluation),
- ACVO Eye Exam
- Autoimmune Thyroditis
- EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse)
- Cardiac Evaluation ~ Congenital/Advanced/Basic Cardiac Exam)
- B.A.E.R. hearing Test ~ Congenital Deafness
- Multiple Drug Sensitivity ~ MDR 1 test
- Cerebellar Degeneration
- Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD)
The OFA recommends the following basic health screening tests for all Standard Poodle breeding stock:
- Hip Dsyplasia (OFA Radiographic Hip Evaluation or PennHIP Evaluation),

Introducing our fluffy, bouncy, charismatic boy, Winston!
He is going to be a strong sire for Huckleberry Hills Doodles and Poodles. His personality is beyond compare. He is gentle, playful, funny, goofy, tender and loving. He is human focused, inquistive and remarkably smart. He is quick to learn and enjoys being your shadow wherever you go. This gentle giant is already showing the aptitude as an emotional support/service candidate – innately without having any specific training he began using deep pressure therapy (DPT) to calm an anxious and emotional person.
